From this summer, TSUBAKI VINTAGE will change the way we run our web boutique and introduce you to a new purchasing experience, based on the Japanese philosophy of Ichi-go Ichi-e (一期一会).
Ichi-go Ichi-e (one opportunity, one encounter in Japanese translation) is a Japanese proverb, which speaks to the idea that no one encounter can ever be recreated, hence every encounter should be met with one’s full, attuned senses.
With our new Ichi-go Ichi-e shopping style, we will release a small number of new skirts on this web boutique every Saturday at 15:00 PM CET/9:00 AM EST/22:00 PM TOKYO, followed by pre-introduction of these items at the beginning of the week on Instagram and Facebook.
Your every encounter with our vintage kimono skirt is Ichi-go Ichi-e, as all our vintage kimono skirt is a one-off piece, and no two skirts are the same. Also, we use almost one entire kimono to create one skirt, and therefore there is no fabric left to recreate another one.
In an age of mindless consumption, nothing could be more valuable and beautiful than carefully selecting and owning a piece of clothing that truly speaks to our hearts. We hope you will find your most special piece to cherish and enjoy for a very long time.
